The Ethics of Profit in Medicine… Are We There Yet?
This May, AEHA will convene members, patients and health leaders from across Australia to examine one of the most pressing and complex questions facing modern healthcare.
The Ethics of Profit in Medicine… Are We There Yet? places the intersection of sustainability, professional integrity and patient-centred care at the centre of national discussion.
At the heart of this year’s Symposium is a structured, case-driven hypothetical exploring critical ethical dilemmas in healthcare. The discussion is designed to test how ethical judgement holds under real-world, system-level pressure. As evolving scenarios unfold, we will hear from patients, academics and highly experienced leaders from major Australian health organisations who will respond in real time — navigating complexity, accountability and competing priorities.
Every discussion will be grounded in patient impact, reinforcing the shared purpose that connects public, private and not-for-profit settings. The program will acknowledge historical tensions while focusing on constructive progress, transparency and rebuilding trust.
Positioned as a rigorous and forward-looking leadership forum, the AEHA Symposium 2026 will elevate sector-wide thinking and strategic engagement.
